Thank you for stopping by! I’m Colleen of em and ellie, formerly mama & little e.

Although I’ve been sort of a crafting ninja for years, I formally started my DIY adventure in July 2013, after a lot of prompting from Mr. Mama, and two random unrelated orders for baby gifts from friends. Shortly after the first two orders, I launched my etsy shop, mama & little e.Β In July 2017, I officially left the world of teaching to grow mama & little e as my full time job. In 2018, I launched mamaandlittlee.com as a stand-alone website, so that my blog and my shop could share a platform.

In 2019, I gave our name and logo a little bit of a facelift. “mama & little e” never rolled off the tongue for me, but I hated to ditch a name that included my son. I saw it abbreviated several times as “m&le” and LOVED the way it sounded phonetically, so “em and ellie” it became. I swapped the florals in my previous logo for a small bee to represent my daughter, and now I have a name and logo that fit perfectly. πŸ™‚

On top of running em and ellie, I love to spend time repurposing random junk, making ridiculous Halloween costumes out of cardboard, decorating (and re-decorating) our home on a budget, taking pictures of my kids, and browsing the aisles at Target. I also own an obscene amount of throw pillows.

Whether you’re stopping by to shop, or stopping by for some DIY inspiration, I’m so glad you’ve visited! Thanks for being a part of this em and ellie community πŸ™‚
